adventures with chuck

So, a couple of weeks ago, one of my very dear friend Chuck* was flown out from Canadia to Australia for the express purpose of photographing a wedding.  Yes, that is how much of a completely brilliant photographer he is.  I didn’t know the couple getting hitched, but it worked out perfect for me because it meant that I was able to catch up with him for the first time in eight years.  As well as doing heaps of fun stuff and catching up over a few ciders, over the few days that we spent we inadvertently started a little project type thing, which of course I’m now completely obsessed with**.   We gave it the somewhat auspicious name of ‘iPhone-otography’ and basically it just involves taking cool photos of wherever you are, or of something fun or interesting that catches your attention, on an iPhone using the ShakeIt Photo app.  Who knew that taking photos with a phone could be so much fun?  And, because Chuck is such a totally*** awesome photographer with real, proper equipment, he was always on the lookout for cool things to snap.  And, I reckon I picked up some sweet tips from him too!  The funnest part of the whole thing was comparing each other’s photos as soon as we had taken them – it’s amazing how two people can look at the same thing and take away a completely different perspective.

Anyway…here are my iPhone-otography adventures …

* not his real name

**please see previous posts on for deeper insight into this disturbing component of my personality
